Visuals Workshops

Not sure which board to purchase?

Not sure whether they will bring the benefit you want?

visuals workshop

Our “try before you buy” online visuals workshops will help you decide on both counts.

Neale Hayward-Shott, Founding Director of OurBoards and father to an adult daughter with learning disabilities will spend an hour demonstrating how to use Now Next Boards, Weekly Visual Timetables and Personal Planning Boards and show the benefit of using them as part of a daily routine.

There will be a chance to ask any questions you have during the hour zoom meeting.

User Workshops

Is a family member already using a board but you’re not really sure if you are getting the full benefit?

Any purchaser of a board can sign up to our free “what’s working”, “what’s not” workshop. Again run by Neale, this workshop will ensure you are making the most of using the board you have purchased. It’s best if questions are submitted ahead of the workshop, although there will also be time for open discussion too.

FREE workshop projects for support groups, including FREE boards

Some local authorities and charities have funds available to award grants to support families supporting a child or adult with hidden disabilities such as ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, FASD, Dementia, Down Syndrome, Strokes, SEND and Learning Disabilities. OurBoards has been successful in applying for grants to work with pan-disability groups and groups that support a specific disability.

These projects come in three parts; introduction/awareness workshop, supply of FREE boards, “what’s working”, “what’s not” workshop.

  1. The project starts with an online workshop, demonstrating how to use Now Next Boards, Weekly Visual Timetables and Personal Planning Boards and showing the benefit of using them as part of a daily routine
  2. Families then choose a board most suitable for their needs and OurBoards delivers the board.
  3. Three or four weeks later there’s a follow up online workshop with opportunities to discuss how things have gone with OurBoards and others within your group.

Obviously, the number of families that can be supported depends on the grant received. In some cases OurBoards can apply for the grant. Alternatively, if a local presence is required, OurBoards can support you to make the application, in some cases, by completing the forms on your behalf.
