What were the issues that you used to experience in your work role?
I’m currently involved in a project to get disabled people in sport. It covers all disabilities; physical and hidden. We have a Work Tracking system but I struggle with staying on task.

The Personal Planning Board and the Worries Board
How are you using the board?
I open the Work Tracking system and transfer outstanding jobs to the planning board. The planning board gives me a simple visual focus and helps me to stay focused and finish each task. No-one else is allowed to touch my board.
I use the Worries Board to self manage those thoughts that are distracting me. I write a thought on the blue Gecko sticker and place in the worries column. I leave it for an hour then come back to it and place it in the relevant circle; “things I can something about”, “things I can do nothing about” and “things for the future”.
I wrote a funding application a while ago and I’m waiting for the answer, so that goes the “things for the future” circle. I can then leave it there until I hear an answer.
How has it affected the way that you do your work?
Using the boards help me to focus and I get less distracted which means I get more jobs done. I’m more productive.
